Plexi-Wood: Best of Both Worlds

It’s a holder for collets. Useful for storing and easily selecting the right collet during cutter changes.
Mainly, it’s an excuse to illustrate a concept: blending genres, wood and acrylic glass (Polymethyl methacrylate). With some stainless steel to secure it.
Wood adds warmth. Here it’s elm. But it’s long and complex to machine when precision (digital) shape control is needed.
Plexiglass is easy and quick to work for flawless, if somewhat cold, results.
Together, they enhance each other.
