The structure of this original jewelry tree is more digital than it might appear: it’s fractal.
That is, the pattern of a branch dividing into two sub-branches is recursive. While one plane is symmetrical to allow the other to interlock, a subtle asymmetry is introduced in the angle of the branches in the plane that fits above. This is intentional to give the tree’s overall shape a more natural look. The complexity of the fascinating geometric calculations involved likely goes unnoticed.
